fuhzool is my (dustin liu’s) creative container to work with organizations and individuals in the process of getting from here to there

In early 2022, I was struggling to find language to describe the work that I was doing. It felt like words like facilitation or coaching were both too broad and too limiting — I was having a challenge finding a single word that captured the work that I found most meaningful.

When I brought this challenge to my friend, Ted Munter, he simply said: “why don’t you make up a word?” And so in that conversation, fuhzool was born!"

Here are other reasons fuhzool is the name I landed on:

  • It is fun to say and I smile when I say it

  • The “ool” reminds me of the word school which feels connected to how I see our life as a transformative workshop

  • The two o’s connect together nicely which matches the glasses I have worn for the past 9 years

  • “Uh” is my favorite sound because it to me describes thinking in process
